Things to do: the Bus Stop game

Teaching children to play a board game is not easy. The biggest issue is to find a game that keeps their interest I find. This Orchard game Bus Stop really works for our 5-year old boys. They like to tell stories and the colourful busses really get their inspiration going while we play. During the game they need to get passengers on board. But passengers also leave. They love to chose which passenger get to stay or go and tell me why. Some will go to school, others will go play in the park or forest, someone needs to shop etc. Lots of new adventures.

During the game I regularly ask them how many passenger they have on board or how many they will have, it’s a very natural way of teaching them about adding and subtracting. The game is in English but it’s easy to use in any language. Perfect for the ages 4-8.
